According to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
® (ASPCA
®), approximately 6.5 million companion animals entered shelters in 2023.
Through the Subaru Loves Pets
® initiative, Subaru retailers provide direct funding through grants administered by the ASPCA to the retailer's local partner to help cover costs for preparing animals for adoption, veterinary expenses, and more.
The eligibility criteria for the 2025 Subaru Loves Pets program is guided by the IRS
Good Governance Practices, including, but not limited to, governing body size and independence and compliance with corporate statutory requirements or the applicable state minimum requirement in the applicant’s state of incorporation, whichever is greater.
Additionally, retailers can opt to purchase New Cat Parent Kits, New Dog Parent Kits, and Vehicle Dog Toys. During October, many Subaru retailers host adoption, microchipping, or other types of events in their stores to help ensure more pets can find loving homes in their communities.

As a reminder, Love Promise program costs will be automatically submitted for SAF reimbursement. New as of 2024, Love Promise program costs will pay from available Love Promise Funds. Should Love Promise Funds be exhausted, claims will pay from Flex or, if Flex is exhausted, available New Car Funds.
