VERMONT FOODBANK SELECTED AS "HOMETOWN CHARITY"
BY TWIN CITY SUBARU FOR; 2014 "SHARE THE LOVE"

Twin City  Subaru will again participate in the 2014 "Share the Love" program and chose  the Vermont Foodbank as their "hometown charity" to be added to the list of  organizations that customers can select to receive the 2014 Subaru "Share the  Love" donation.

"Share the Love" will  run from Nov. 20, 2014 to Jan. 2, 2015 and allows Subaru retailers the  opportunity to select charities operating in their community to be included in  a list of organizations that new owners can select from to receive a $250  donation from Subaru of America (SOA) up to $15 million.

Last year, Twin City Subaru and their customers donated  $17,250 to the Vermont Foodbank. "It was made clear to us that hunger is an  issue that our customers care about and one that affects many of our neighbors  right here in Vermont," said Dave Birmingham, owner of Twin City Subaru. "We  are thrilled to be partnering with the Vermont Foodbank again this year and  hope to raise $25,000 for our neighbors in need!"

"We couldn't be more  excited to partner with the team at Twin City Subaru again this year," said  John Sayles, Vermont Foodbank CEO. "Last year's donating provided nearly 52,000  meals for our neighbors in need-and the need has never been greater. Each year  the Foodbank and our network of food shelves and meal sites provide food for  153,000 Vermonters. And during the winter months, our neighbors in need are  choosing between heating their homes and putting food on the table. No one  should have to make this choice and with the help of "Share the Love" this  holiday season, we are working to ensure no one in Vermont will go hungry."

In the last six years  of this program, SOA has donated $35 million to a number of charities through  the "Share the Love" campaign. The seventh-annual "Share the Love" program will  deliver donations to the following four national charities:

  • ASPCA®
  • Make-A-Wish®
  • Meals On Wheels  Association of America®
  • National Park  Foundation

In addition to the  national charities that are participating, Vermont Foodbank will be gifted a  donation check with money raised from new Subaru owners at the end of the  program.

"Subaru of America,  Inc. and our local retailers are excited to support all of our charities on  both
national and local  levels in this year's "Share the Love" program," said Thomas J. Doll, president  and  chief operating officer, Subaru of  America, Inc. "Our customers have a philanthropic spirit and giving back to the  communities in which we live and work in is important to all of us at Subaru of  America."
